US Minerals is looking for Bagging Operators to join our growing organization! The individual in this position will primarily operate a bagging machine and its associated support equipment in a safe and efficient manner.


Job Responsibilities: 

  • Drive and operate plant forklifts and skid steers
  • Load flat bed and box type truck trailers
  • Start and operate the machine that packages product. Regulate machine flow and speed.
  • Stop or reset machine when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor
  • Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups or jams
  • Stock and sort product for filling machine operation and replenish packaging supplies such as paper bags, shrink wrap, plastic over-packs, boxes, cartons, and labels
  • Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material
  • Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items
  • Supply materials to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices and unload packaged product
  • Package the product in the form in which it will be shipped such as filling bags with product granules from a chute or spout
  • Count and record finished and rejected packaged items
  • Attach identification labels to finished packaged items and stencil information on containers, such as lot numbers or shipping destinations
  • Stack finished packaged items on pallets and wrap protective material around each item. Once secured transport palletized materials to a storage area
  • Clean packaging containers and bagging machine area
  • Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides
  • Clean and remove damaged or otherwise inferior materials to prepare raw products for processing


Position Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Prepare written reports and/or forms
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing or via radio
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Minimum of 2 years floor experience in any type of manufacturing plant
  • Forklift experience a plus
  • Proven problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple deliverables with a minimum of supervision
